- Gujarat may become the first state to adopt Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s new staffing model, allowing private individuals who are not IAS officers, to be recruited to senior joint secretary-level posts. Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani has started exploring the possibility of adopting the model in the state. He asked the state administration to check the possibility of the engaging private domain experts at key posts.
- To attract talent from the public and private sectors, the Modi government has invited applications for 10 joint secretary posts in various ministries under its “lateral entry” scheme.
