Ans 26:      It is multilateral export control regime (MECR) and informal group that works to counter spread of materials, equipment and technologies that could contribute to development or acquisition of chemical and biological weapons by state or terrorist groups through harmonisation of state controls. It was established in 1985. It has now 43 members. China Pak, Iran and North Korea are not its members

Q.  Wassenaar Agreement:

Ans:  It is one of the key export control groups in the world dealing with non -proliferation. which is also an informal grouping of 42 countries, exercising control over the export of dual-use goods and technologies. The body came into being in 1996 to succeed the Cold War-era Coordinating Committee for Multilateral Export Controls.
