Gujarat is situated on the west coast of India and have a 1,600 km long coastline. Geographically, Gujarat has the following coordinates:
20° 6′ N to 24° 42′ N (north latitude) and
68° 10’E to 74° 28’E (east longitude).
The Arabian Sea sweeps off the western and south western frontiers of the state. Gujarat stretches from Kutch in the West to Daman in the South. In the East, lies the hilly region of the Aravalli range, whereas pure green woods, hills, plains and rivers are found in the west.
Rajasthan lies towards the northeast of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh to the east andMaharashtra to the southeast. Gujarat is the westernmost state of India. It shares an international border with Pakistan.
It even shares an international border with Pakistan, which lies on the northwest side of the state. Apart from this, there is Gulf of Cambay, situated towards the northeast of Gujarat. The state has 25 districts and is expansive in area. It ranks 9th in area, whereas 10th in population. Gujarat is known for its vibrancy and has a colorful profile. It has extensively fertile alluvial plains, semi deserts, marsh lands, grasslands, etc. the state has been also a major trade destination since the ancient times, due to its strategic location.
